Tackling Muskoka's Toughest Projects Since 1999
When your Muskoka project demands precision, power, and experience, Kenozha Bay Company delivers. Since 1999, we’ve been trusted to take on the toughest jobs with the right equipment, the right know-how, and results that stand the test of time.
Local Knowledge, Professional Results
You will benefit from our deep Muskoka roots. The Steele family has lived and worked on Lake Joseph for five generations and understands the nuances of building in this beautiful but challenging environment. Beyond our familiarity with the rugged Muskoka landscape, your project will benefit from our established relationships with governing bodies and building departments. This translates to your project enjoying expedited permits and approvals.
The Right Equipment, the Right Know-How
Kenozha Bay Company can do the big jobs that the little guys can’t handle. We have the right equipment and the highly skilled technicians to operate it. Other contractors in the region hire us to move heaven and earth!
Your most challenging projects become manageable with our specialized fleet. Our 100-ton barge serves properties accessible only by water. Our stone slinger places materials precisely where traditional equipment can’t reach. Our heavy excavators and tri-axle trucks tackle jobs that make other contractors run in the other direction! When you need site preparation, hardscaping, or material delivery that requires serious capability, our equipment and know-how make it happen.
Honest Pricing, Quality Results
Your investment deserves transparency. We price each job honestly and charge only for actual time on site—no surprises, no hidden costs. Every foundation, retaining wall, and septic system we build exceeds Ontario Building Code requirements because your property deserves work that lasts.
From raw land preparation to stunning hardscaped outdoor spaces, we have the equipment, expertise, and local knowledge to transform your Muskoka property. Your project demands the best, and Kenozha Bay Company has been Muskoka’s industry leader since 1999.
History
Kenozha Bay Company was founded in 1999 by J. Randall Steele. Starting with a single-axle dump truck, a float, and a small excavator, Randy began providing landscaping services for seasonal residents in Muskoka while his wife, Lynda, managed the books and the office.
As the business grew, Randy hired more personnel, including his future son-in-law and eventual co-owner, Matthew. Not long after, his son Remington returned home from college to help expand operations and would later become president of the company.
The following year, another son-in-law, Grayson, joined the team, quickly earning a reputation as one of the hardest workers in Muskoka and establishing himself as a key member of the Kenozha Bay family.
Together, Randy, his family, and a dedicated crew of employees continued to grow the company. They built a custom barge to service water-access properties, doubling their capabilities, and in 2018, they completed a new shop on the outskirts of their beautiful hometown of Rosseau.
The Kenozha Bay team remains deeply connected to the local community, supporting events and stepping up to help the municipality during times of crisis, such as storm damage. They consider their competitors friends, and have been known to assist them when needed—whether re-surfacing a sunken barge and excavator or offering tools and shop space when equipment breaks down.
Today, Kenozha Bay Company continues to thrive as a family-owned business built on hard work, integrity, and community spirit—values that remain at the heart of everything they do.
